Pot-stewed duck neck sold at Jingwu Road is a Wuhan specialty well received by local citizens. Though once it appeared in Wuhan only, it has been popular across the whole country currently.

On Jingwu Road in Hankou District (next to Worker’s Cultural Palace on Jiefang Avenue), there are 18 restaurants selling pot-stewed duck neck. The pot-stewed food they sell is largely identical, such as pot-stewed duck neck, duck’s web, tharm, wing, pot-stewed peanuts and sliced lotus root. Among the 18 restaurants, 80% market shares have been secured by Four Giants: Hankou Jingwu who introduced pot-stewed duck neck into supermarkets, Top Jingwu Restaurant and Songlin Jingwu at the intersection, as well as the founder Jiujiu Jingwu. Mr. Tu, the boss of Hankou Jingwu, is a smart Huangpi citizen who introduced the spot-stewed duck neck into supermarkets. Now the duck neck prepared by Mr. Tu has is being sold in 48 supermarkets in Wuhan. Due to the film Life Show, duck neck becomes quite popular in Shanghai, where local businessmen selling duck neck made a lot of advertisements about it and set up a good distribution system, thus introducing duck necks into many local restaurants. Now spot-stewed duck necks have been sold in large-sized fair trade markets. Seven supermarkets in Shanghai have special booths for duck neck.
